Glymphology™ by Trisoma®

Bodywork Therapy, Massage & Research concerning the Glymphatic Network

The "glymphatic system" in the brain has been researched and mapped in recent years by many scientists, and some models propose it to be a "clearance pathway" or "organ system for metabolic waste removal in the central nervous system".

Medical researchers typically distinguish somatic features by physical boundaries or chemical property distinctions. Much like myofascial trigger points were controversial and censored before being located using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and being suddenly covered by insurance, the glymphatic network is finally becoming uncovered and confirmed in vivo.

Some of us bodyworkers who have intuitively sensed some dynamic network and other somatic networks, before imaged by technology, believe that it may have more functions, such as CNS and other organ communication, analysis, sentry and protection. Not only may glymphatics have more functions, but they may be manipulated by kinetic bodywork and non-kinetic bodywork, and not just by pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals that are being patented.

History

Hippocrates described ‘white blood’ in the body in the year 5 BCE, and this is considered to be the oldest account of the lymphatics. The term "glymphatic" first appeared in the seminal paper published on August 15, 2012, in Science Translational Medicine, titled "A paravascular pathway facilitates CSF flow through the brain parenchyma and the clearance of interstitial solutes, including amyloid β." It was considered to be the brain's waste clearance pathway. Around 2015 the competitive study of and funding for glymphatics and the medical management thereof greatly expanded and propagated in academia, resulting in nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals being filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office. Thus the study of glymphatics is mostly using EMF invasive technology and chemical markers. Trisoma is investigating alternative routes using Bodywork (including Craniosacral methods) and some devices used by Physical therapists and Chiropractors which function along other pathways based on research from 50 to over 100 years ago and even from antiquity in Egypt, Greece, India, China and Europe.
